How to draw a teapot – let’s start!

Step 1

To start this guide on how to draw a teapot, we’ll start with the lid of the teapot. You can start by drawing a small circle on top of the teapot. You can then extend two curved lines down from that circle, and once you’ve drawn it, you can draw a border at the bottom of the lid. Once this top is done, you must remove two curved tubes coming down from the frame, as these will form the front of the flanks of the teapot. That’s all there is to this step, so you can move on to step 2 of the guide!

Step 2: Now outline the body of the teapot.

To continue this teapot drawing, we will outline the rounded body of the teapot. First, draw another thin border using two curved lines connecting the two lines you drew from the lid in the previous step. With this new border drawn, the next thing we’ll do is draw two more long curved lines going down the sides of the border. These lines will connect almost near the bottom, but there will be a small gap near the right side of the base.

Step 3: Remove the remainder of the ground and some cosmetic stuff.

To continue with this guide on drawing a teapot, we will draw the rest of the teapot base. Before removing the bottom, we depend on another decorative element for the teapot’s body. You must remove two curved stripes nigher jointly and span the full width of the centre of the kettle body. Then you are ready to draw the rest of the base. To do this, draw a curved line from one side of the outside of the base to the other, then draw another line underneath. The reference image will show you how it should look, and when you’re done, we can move on to step 4!

Step 4: Following, form removing the hold and faucet

Your teapot drawing may look short and thick, so we’ll draw the handle and the spout for this step. The handle will go on the left side of the kettle and should be easy to pull. You must draw a rounded line on the side and then another one over it. So, you are ready to draw the beak. This will again be drawn with a few curved lines to create the beak starting from the right side and going up. Once the handle and spout are complete, you are ready to decorate this teapot in the next step.

Step 5: Add Final Details to Your Teapot Drawing

You are now ready to add some final decorations and details in this step of our teapot drawing guide. In our reference image, we opted for a floral teapot design. Each flower on the body has a small circle in the centre with curved lines with pointed tips for each petal. You can replicate this same design for your design, but you should also feel free to create your design if you wish! You can also add to the image by drawing a background; it would be a great way to show what you would enjoy with this cup of tea.

Step 6: Finish your teapot drawing with colour.

In this last step of drawing your teapot, you can finish it with a few colours! In our reference image, we opted for a few shades of green for the teapot’s body. Next, for the floral decorations, we used light pinks and yellows to make them stand out against the green body of the teapot.
